Video-sonic Presences (Presenze video-soniche), electronic arts collective show at Cervelletta Castel in Rome, is an event conceived with the intent of realizing a collective space in which young artists’ works meet and cohabit with those of some of the most successful masters. The idea of dressing the spaces of the castle aims to concretely join the art deviation from the official places with a revaluation of the territory and cultural goods, so to speak “decentralized”, far from “tourist runs” . It’s not only bringing art to the suburb, it’s a try to move, even occasionally, the interest of the world of the culture out of the traditional circuit and from the city zones in which it acts. Another feature of this manifestation is that it has being devised and realized by young students of the “editor of artistic and cultural events” course by the University “La Sapienza” of Rome
The reference to the ghostly dimension of the castle, as infested by ghosts, does not only intend to go back to the fairy world, but tries to have of this background a "rhetorical excuse" to place the special congenital otherness of the audio-visions, of which the show is constitued, in evidence: not simply an abstract something, something extraneous added, but apparitions of invisible and inaudible "presences" hidden in/by the same world. So the castle becomes the place of not reaveling places of the essence hidden in all the things, environment, middle earth between the world and the beyond of the world, the ordinary and the overtime concealed in the ordinary itself. The artists' works, also differing between them in the electronic presuppositions as theoretical as in the modes of realization and then of device interpretation, have in council the feature to make emerge and to place processes in audio-visione otherwise inaccessible, in which revealing itself is not only the nature of the devices but the same nature, its continuos formation processes and the mechanisms of the perception. Let’s think about the landscapes motility in the visions wayfarers of Cahen or to overlap of formality and points of vision that we find in the works of Strangis.
The event will be inaugurated by: Silvio Di Francia (Ass. alle Politiche Culturali), Dante Pomponi (Ass. alle Politiche per le Periferie, lo Sviluppo Locale e il Lavoro), Ivano Caradonna (Presidente del V Municipio), Massimiliano Marcucci (Delegato alla Cultura e allo Sport del V Municipio), Marco Piccozza (Delegato alla semplificazione amministrativa e alle Nuove Tecnologie del V Municipio)
The event has been conceived and realized by Le momo electronique group in collaboration with l’Ass. Boccaleone, sponsored by MLAC (Museo Laboratorio di Arte Contemporanea) of University “La Sapienza” of Rome, directed by Simonetta Lux and coordinated by Domenico Scudero, by V Municipio, dell’Assessorato alle Politiche Culturali e di quello alle Politiche per le Periferie, lo Sviluppo Locale e il Lavoro del Comune di Roma.
