Mustafa Olpak who wrote The biographies from the shores of Köle, Kenya-Girit-Istanbul, "Arap Kadın Kemale" and whose own grandfather was sold into slavery at the age of 12 claims that slaves were routinely sold from 20-70 lira in slave markets in 1860. He is the founder of “Association of Solidarity ,Culture and Cooperation” in Cunda-Ayvalik of Turkey (seaside town in the northwest Turkey. ) . The first artistic donation to the Association shall be from the Artist Miss H. Cigdem Yorgancioglu ( (http://www.cigdemyorgancioglu.net) Yorgancioglu’s painting (oil on press-canvas ) inspired from a Crete face in Africa has been dedicated to Olpak’s book "Arap Kadın Kemale". There is going to be auction-selling in the opening ceremony of “Association of Solidarity ,Culture and Cooperation” that shall be conducted at Cunda on 18 November 2006 which shall be open to press, visitors from Turkey and abroad including UNESCO authorities .
The total sale revenue of the painting shall be forwarded to the Association for the purpose of helping poor African people lives in turkey .Miss yorgancioglu stated that her contribution to the Association for such support shall be pursued in next Exhibitions .
