Photography appears to be the new medium, the medium of the 21st century.

Europe has recognized photography thanks to different mandatory rendez-vous: the Fair of Koln (Germany), Paris Photo (France) to name a few.

Since the 30’s, Henri Cartier-Bresson has given a new dimension to photography thanks to his Leica, is passion for photography has created generation of photographers.

ART VITAM GALLERY is proud to invite you to the last photo show of 2004, the exhibition extra muros will take place just across the street in the former Haitian Gospel Church.

Group show including works by:

Laurence BENARD, a French photographer whose work is based on architecture. Benard has shoot houses, bridges, building, all different type of architecture work when visited countries.

At 32 years old, she is continuing in her grandfather's footsteps following a shared passion for photography.
Since childhood, her mind was made up, driven with a desire to capture instances of life on film, leading her to photography.
It was in 1991 when her passion turned more serious. After studying in
Paris, she worked "jean-jake" studio, where she was able to provide and finance her own photographic and journalistic endeavors.
Post
Paris, to ensure her confidence in herself, Laurence decided to take her
knowledge, passion and photographic eye to the people of
Cuba and Mexico. It
was there where she assured her place in the world that her grandfather
graciously introduced to her

Maxime DAUTRESME is a French-Brazilian photographer and a professional designer.

He has developed a very high sense and appreciation of art during his childhood living in Brazil, Japan, Korea and France. Finding roots from his well-known artist family, DAUTRESME has applied his vast visions to all media particularly in architecture, industrial design and photography. For this exhibition, DAUTRESME will showcase photographic installations of dual worlds separated and fused together by water plains, surfaces and its illusory implications. Using light, metal and plexiglass, his works are a display of his perfectionist and keen sense of beauty and craftsmanship.

Lorent MATAGNE, a Belgian photographer whose technique is B&W Polaroid + color photography.

His work with Polaroid’s is wonderful; he dresses his models as little girls dress their dolls.

In so doing, he gives them a life, a history, a character. He sets them up with colors, often vibrant, always hypnotizing.

His models look out at us as butterflies under glass must see us….

And one often has the impression of a sort of distress, in their expressions, at being so displayed, but very selfishly we answer them that we like what we see. His name is Lorent MATAGNE, he is young, and without a doubt has a brilliant future ahead of him.

Nathalie MOLINA, a Belgian emerging photographer.

Naty Molina-Archambeau was raised in the artistic mood created by her beloved father. He was a photographer and a painter.

She started her working career in the prestigious edition of cultural books about the beautiful architecture of her country.

She edited several books which are still considered as major references by many experts.

She got interested in the art of picture first by simply observing people in their natural behaving and trying to freeze their unexpected reality. She is attracted by shadows and reflections.

She sees the world around in black and white with tons of grey.
