The 31st Fiac will be held from 21 - 25 October 2004 in Halls 4 and 5.1 of the Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris. 217 galleries chosen during a rigorous selection process and presenting a panorama of international modern and contemporary art will exhibit.New Spaces, New Premises, Halls 4 & 5.1 The leading national and international, modern and contemporary galleries will be exhibiting in Hall 4. Another new highlight to discover in Hall 4, the Design section that will bring to light the close links between fine art and design. Located immediately nearby, the newly built Hall 5.1 will host three sections of the fair: Perspectives, Future Quake (a selection of new emerging international galleries), and the area devoted to Prints.
New TrendsThis year, out of the 217 galleries at the fair, 106 of them are from outside France. The USA has tripled its presence at the Fiac, with 15 galleries. The work of young emerging American artists will be on show thanks to 4 galleries in the Perspectives section, and 5 more in the new area Future Quake. These two particularly dynamic areas present the cosmopolitan aspect of the fair with 20 galleries from 9 countries showing in Future Quake and 27 galleries out of the 33 in Perspectives coming from Europe, Asia and the USA. The fair has also experienced a healthy influx of new exhibitors. Among the 95 new galleries joining Fiac 2004, 68 of them are first-time participants.
